Invasive species are wreaking havoc in Latvia — quietly and gradually.
We've been taught since childhood to love and cherish nature, so it is especially difficult to be asked to destroy a part of it. Moreover, we have long since come to regard some of these invasive species as native, making it hard to believe that plants like the shadbush could cause any harm.
Threatened native species cannot raise the alarm themselves—they lack the means—so we lend our own voices to sound the warning. To turn our message into action, these short films reveal the full truth about invasive species: which native species are at risk, how the invasion spreads, and why immediate eradication is necessary. Once convinced, the viewer can set about destroying, eliminating, or uprooting them.
